Let FSG do the hard stuff for youThe 148 engineers of The Federated Software Group have, on average, 10 years experience in developing software and integrating information systems for diverse environments. We have taken on, and delivered, some of the most challenging assignments to be found in the modern information world. We have completed tasks that customers' in-house programmers were simply not equipped to handle, and other contract engineering firms could not finish, or even get a healthy start on. We are that good. That's not marketing hype - that's reality. We can prove it to you. What makes us so special? To begin with, we select very, very good engineers that we know to be knowledgeable, motivated, and productive. Then, we pay them what they are worth, which is what our customers think they're worth - and they're worth a lot. Then we treat them like colleagues, like adults. We are a company of engineers, founded by engineers and run by engineers. Maybe this is why in thirteen years of doing business we have more than doubled in size every two years. So, while we're all puffed up and strutting around the room, you might ask, "OK, what have you done?" Do you want a list? Applications - For the past ten years or so, our engineers have designed, developed, and maintained the U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command Headquarters command and control system. This suite of applications is used by the Air Force to track the planes, pilots, passengers and cargo for its airlift and air refueling operations worldwide. Our Logbook application, which effortlessly facilitates inter-group communications, is now a DoD standard, used by many of the major military commands. And we have developed many, many others. Databases - All of our engineers work with databases and database-driven applications on a daily basis. We have in-depth knowledge of Oracle, Informix, Sybase, Access and others. These databases range from very small, client resident data stores, to central repositories of up to 100 Gigabytes in size. Web Applications - We developed some of the first database-driven web applications for the Department of Defense. These are not just flashy Home Page productions, but real working applications that clients use to quickly access the information they need, using the latest web technology. System Integration - Over the years we have engineered many integrated solutions for both military and commercial sites. We have learned, sometimes the hard way, what works with what. A functional, integrated computing system is the result of proven combinations of components and an experienced integrator. It is seldom straightforward, and is almost never what the hardware and software vendors claim. - Below are some of the many exciting projects FSG is working on.Global Decision Support System 2 (GDSS2) GDSS2 is the culmination of an effort to integrate and modernize AMC's core mobility Command and Control systems. GDSS 2 combines the capabilities of several unit-level C2 systems with force-level C2 applications containing similar functionality. FSG is a primary developer of this system, responsible for key engineering design and development activities including Systems Architecture, Software Architecture, Security Architecture, Database Architecture, External Systems Architecture, Database Replication Engineering, and Coding Standards. The FSG-developed Applications Framework, provides an unparalleled look and feel across sixteen separate modules of GDSS2. With this Framework, users individually customize many desktop parameters to provide their own view of client data. Our design provides tremendous flexibility and eliminates the expense of individual screen development. GDSS2 incorporates the latest applicable technologies, and integrates appropriate commercial and government off-the-shelf components. GDSS2 is available as an installed client application and it is also readily accessible via the worldwide web. Integrated Management Tool (IMT) FSG designed and developed the Integrated Management Tool as a customized application for Air Mobility Command (AMC) Flight Managers. IMT fuses data from disparate databases to provide a total mission view. With IMT, AMC has implemented a flight management process where a flight manager is both the TACC execution officer and a virtual crew member, sharing the ultimate success or failure for timely execution of the mission with the aircrew. Using IMT, the flight manager can execute all requisite preflight planning, and electronically file the flight plan with Air Traffic Control (ATC). IMT provides the flight manager with a capability to can communicate directly with the AMC aircraft, track progress, and directly support crews. Flight managers use IMT to request weather briefings and prepare crew departure papers. Aircrew members can download those departure papers from anywhere in the world via the Web. IMT's exception reporting feature automatically alerts the flight manager to issues that may jeopardize the success of the mission. The increased level of data detail provided by IMT, improves AMC's ability to track and relay reliable information to customers and support personnel. Mobility Air Forces--Combat Air Forces Interoperability (Maf-Caf) MAF-CAF Interoperability includes initiatives to exchange vital mission, planning and notificaiton information between AMC and other C2 agencies, like theater Air and Space Operations Centers (AOCs). Systematic, machine to machine exchange of operational information ensures AMC and Theater commanders get a complete picture of air mobility forces in action. Events Logbook (ELB) ELB is a Government-Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) Web application designed by the Federated Software Group for the Department of Defense. ELB enhances real-time collaboration and information exchange in fast-paced C2 environments, where information must be tracked, decisions made, and results reported. ELB, better known as "LOGBOOK", is a web-based secure system providing an impressive list of features including information preservation and reporting, collaboration and distribution, storage and retrieval, workflow management, distributive checklists, and message import and management. LOGBOOK is one of the C2 applications developed and maintained by FSG. As GOTS software, anyone within the federal government can request LOGBOOK from USTRANSCOM without cost. FSG stands ready to assist with implementation, customization, and training. Single Mobility System (SMS) SMS is the tool of choice for single point access to the Defense Transportation System. Over 11,000 users worldwide sign on to SMS through their browsers every day and enjoy quick access to mobility data whether they are at remote sites or at major headquarters. Air or surface, SMS takes users to the information they need with the speed and ease they have come to expect of Web applications. SMS lets the user plan, follow and report on strategic moves throughout the Department of Defense. It is THE window into the Defense Transportation System. SMS is one of the C2 applications developed and maintained by FSG for users all over the world. Joint Airlift Management System (JAMS) JAMS is a web based application developed by the Federated Software Group to provide United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) and Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) with end-to-end management of Operational Support Airlift (OSA) missions. JAMS provides complete visibility and notification of OSA airllift requests from submission, through validation, prioritization, scheduling and post-mission reporting. User access to the system is role and permissions based, and, for the first time in any OSA scheduling system, it provides requstors, validators, schedulers, and flying units and support agencies with an interactive web capability for clear and concise requirement communications. Optimized Airlift Scheduling Beyond FSG's legacy of smart airlift scheduling and management tools, in 2001 FSG built a Schedulers' Decision Support System (SDSS) for USTRANSCOM's Joint Operational Support Airlift Center. SDSS provided multi-day, optimized scheduling solutions that supported over 80 missions and 150 passengers, daily. The system included tools that allowed the user to edit key business rules and constraints. Also included in the decision support toolkit was the popular 'Ride Finder' tool that searched existing airlift schedules for practical multi-aircraft connections for last minute travel requests. SDSS not only solved some tough problems, but also helped FSG build a core of expertise in constraint-based, optimization solution development. All this might sound as if we think we can do anything and everything. But we don't and can't. There are just some things that we do better than others. But the things we do well, we do better than anyone else. For more information, contact us at (314)205-9630, or sales@federated.com. | ||
